Nickelodeon Saturday: A compilation of animation

This is another one from Nickelodeon.  It looks like a number of animated movie shots were compiled into on using a number of quick cuts to show action.  Some are clearly Maya animations but I cannot say whether they all are or not.  If I was to do it I could do some of the text in After Effects and possibly the simple shape animation but the more complicated animation would most likely be done elsewhere.

This is an interesting composition  with the title scene taking about 1 second.  It seems too brief to really enjoy which means it does not hold much importance.  Never the less it looks like it was designed to last longer with emphasis placed on the word read and the names Sam and Cat on blue place card and written in fonts with completely different characters.  Two images of each actress were flipped on and off to give an interesting effect.

Documentary or book trailer?

This is a book trailer of a sort but the background music is used to set the mood, as are the 3d effects.  It does have movie scene in it as well.  There is a lot to read but it moves slowly enough that there is time.  It is basically a documentary but interesting in its design.

Post Game Show Composition

I chose this video because it is short and uses a good number of resources to get its message across.  The sound is mostly the words of the individuals doing the commentary after the title screen but the sounds of the game are left in during periods when the action is shown.  Graphics are used to aid with points the commentators are making.

Using text and voice to seek funding.

An interesting ad.  I saw something similar done with a book trailer and it seem to be the relationship between the qualities if the voice and the text and the text that make it work.  I was wondering why the text us rotated and the only thing I can come up with is to keep it interesting.  The behavior of around seemed to emphasize that word and I am not sure why that choice was made.  Except for the climax was reached when both the text and her voice stopped and then it went on to feature the children's hospital that was the purpose of the ad.

A tailer for a championship

This trailer is for a championship of the multiplayer online battle arena video game called League of Legends.  There is one fairly short scene of the actual online action and that even includes screen format that is like a sports cast.  The sports cast aspect is emphasized.  The warning occupies the screen about four seconds and riot games takes up almost twice that long.  From there it builds up to the action then hits it and climaxes at the end much like a movie.

Animation in an online fundraiser

This video includes a series of animation aimed at gamers and probably hard for anyone else to understand.   It is designed to get money to fund the online show by offering a sneak peak.
